Black Swan

Your notes stay yours.

Black Swan has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. The developer does not collect, store, or sell any of your data.

Last updated: October 17, 2026

The events you log, their Black Swan or deliberate classification, explanations, mitigation checklists, pre-mortems, and your fragility history are stored on your device.

If you’re signed in to iCloud, this data is synced between your devices through your own private iCloud database, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. The developer has no server and cannot read your iCloud data.

Classification — each event is classified as a Black Swan or a deliberate risk by a Core ML model that runs entirely on your device.

Insights — on supported devices, explanations, mitigation plans, and pre-mortem buffers are written by Apple Intelligence using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. Your text is not sent to the developer or to any third-party AI service. On other devices, Black Swan uses built-in suggestions instead.

  • No account or sign-in
  • No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
  • No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites
  • No data shared with or sold to third parties
  • No location, contacts, or photos accessed

If you start a free trial and choose to be reminded, Black Swan asks for permission to send one notification 2 days before the trial ends. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in the Settings app.

Black Swan subscriptions and free trials are processed by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives your name, payment details, or Apple Account information — only anonymous, aggregated sales reports from App Store Connect.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Purchases are subject to Apple’s Standard License Agreement.

Apple may share anonymous app usage and crash data with developers only if you opt in to “Share with App Developers” in your device’s privacy settings.

You can delete any event or pre-mortem inside the app. Deleting Black Swan removes its data from your device; data synced to iCloud can be removed in the Settings app › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Black Swan does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
