Case study
Claud CO2
Track your carbon footprint.
Meet Claud — a friendly cloud mascot that reacts to your weekly CO₂ score. Log everyday activities, plan greener trips, sync with Apple Health, and get weather-smart suggestions to cut your footprint.
The challenge
Climate apps guilt. People need clarity.
Most carbon trackers bury users in spreadsheets and abstract tons. Without a clear weekly pulse — and a reason to come back — logging dies after a few days.
Claud CO2 needed to make impact feel personal: a mascot that reacts, trips ranked by CO₂, and HealthKit walking that counts as compensation without extra friction.
The solution
Log less. See more. Watch Claud thrive.
Activities span driving, flying, transit, food, home energy, walking, biking, planting, and recycling. Weekly charts show consumption vs compensation. Maps compare transport options with the greenest route first.
Claud checks local weather to nudge walking or cycling when conditions are good — and warns when outdoor activity isn’t advisable.

Outcome
A lifestyle habit, not a spreadsheet.
Claud CO2 is live on the App Store, localized in nine languages, with on-device privacy and no data collected.
The project reinforced a product pattern I use often: one emotional hook (Claud), one core habit (log and review), and platform integrations that remove busywork.
