Case study
PomoTask
Find your focus length.
A progressive Pomodoro timer that starts short and gently stretches your focus — adaptive blocks, struggle escape, Apple Watch companion, Home Screen widgets, and on-device stats.
The challenge
Fixed 25 minutes fails most people.
Classic Pomodoro assumes everyone can focus for twenty-five minutes on day one. Many can’t — and quitting mid-session feels like failure, so the habit never sticks.
PomoTask needed a kinder ramp: start around five minutes, grow when you’re in flow, and offer guilt-free escapes when you’re stuck — plus Watch and widgets so starting a session is frictionless.
The solution
Grow focus. Escape struggle. Track streaks.
Progressive Timer adapts after each block via a quick check-in. Struggle Escape lets you pause, cut remaining time, or take a short break. Classic mode stays available with custom focus/break cycles.
Apple Watch starts and tracks sessions from the wrist. Widgets toggle Progressive focus. Optional AlarmKit alerts cut through Silent mode when a session ends.

Outcome
Focus as a skill you train.
PomoTask is live on the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch, localized in eleven languages.
Shipping Watch, widgets, and AlarmKit alongside the core timer is the kind of multi-surface polish I aim for on client productivity tools too.
